Events To See

After the snow melts, the venues still host many activities. There are the annual festivals and events, such as Oktoberfest, Flaming Leaves Festival and the Fourth of July Ski Jump, that are just a few of the things that go on at our sites. International figure skating competitions, weekly ski jumping, aerial skiing and skating shows as well as hockey games are some of the other activities that take place during the summer months. And just like the winter events, all of the summer activities are open to the public!

Ever see an Olympian up close and personal? No? Well, here's your chance to see the top winter sports athletes in the world, as well as many up-and-comers hoping to dethrone the champions.

Lake Placid began its winter sports legacy by hosting the 1932 and the 1980 Olympic Winter Games. Since then, the venues have been home to the 2000 Winter Goodwill Games, multiple World Championships, frequent World Cup events, and numerous international and national events in sliding sports, skiing, figure skating, hockey and more. And it hasnt stoppedthe ORDA venues host World Cup events yearly, including bobsled, luge, skeleton, freestyle skiing, and snowboard. All of the events are open to the public. So catch these outstanding athletes in action!

Many of the events ORDA offers wouldn't be able to go on without the assistance of numerous volunteers. If you're interested in helping out with any or all of these events, please click on the volunteering link on the left. We thank you for your help!
