2009 Lake Placid Loppet
The Lake Placid Loppet has established itself as one of the best events of its kind in the country. Over the past 27 years thousands of skiers have enjoyed skiing and racing on the challenging Mt. Van Hoevenberg trails at the Olympic Sports Complex. The Lake Placid Loppet is a proud member of the American Ski Marathon Series.
The Lake Placid Loppet is conducted by the NY State Olympic Regional Development Authority of Lake Placid, NY on the Olympic Sports Complex Cross Country Ski Trails.

Skijor Try-It Clinic
Have you ever walked your dog and thought I wish my dog could pull me? Find out how to make it happen when Skijoring enthusiasts from across the country host this free introductory event. No dog required.

Be a Biathlete
Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a biathlete? We offer an in depth look at this sport that combines freestyle skiing and rifle marksmanship. (Trail pass not included). Take a freestyle ski lesson for the first hour then meet at the range to zero in your shooting skills.
Time: 1:00 pm / 2:00 pm for range only

Snowboomers
Join active Alpine and Nordic skiers over age 50 looking for camaraderie and coaching in a fun, friendly atmosphere. Whiteface will host the Snowboomers on Tuesdays and the Olympic Sports Complex trails will offer cross country skiing on Thursdays.
Time: 1:00 pm at the Olympic Sports Complex
Date: Thursdays Jan. 8 to March 12
Cost: $350.00 / $199.00 (Charter Member) or $25 daily fee (trail pass not included)
